Pride House of Dallas is an organization that provides sober living and life skill training for LGBTQ clients with substance use disorder. It offers assistance to LGBT individuals who struggle with addiction that need a safe and secure place to live while they continue on their journey to recovery. Most of the clients will be newly discharged from treatment facilities, mental health hospitals, medical hospitals or detox centers.

Programs at the houses include the following:

  • During our group support sessions, residents celebrate their successes and work through their challenges in a structured and supportive group setting.

  • Client may request weekly individuals sessions with an counselor at a private practice away from the sober home.

  • Daily morning mediation to help prepare mentally for the day.

  • Personal development planning and goal setting.

  • Vocational development and job search assistance.

  • Substance abuse relapse prevention.

  • Interpersonal skill development.

  • Spiritual development.

  • Community volunteer involvement.

  • Creative leisure activities and sober fun events.

  • Independent living preparation/follow up.

  • HIV/AIDS counselor to educate and support clients.

  • Daily Wrap-Up Session, this positive psychology approach helps to remind each other that sobriety happens one day at a time. We reflect on our day, and acknowledge blessings, accomplishments and progress.
